How it started...

I have honestly admired people that restore stuff. I bought a 1940's hutch from an old retired couple that went around and picked up old wood furniture and refurbish them. They learned what was worth rebuilding and they would have rebuilt, repair and repaint these things.

My own personal issue with old stuff and making it work was rebuilding older cars to be functional. I was always amazed at the people that have to have the BRAND NEW, LATEST AND GREATEST stuff. Dont get me wrong, I dig new stuff too.

Anyways, I have also been a fan of American Pickers, Pawn Stars, American Restoration and Count's cars.

More so with American Pickers and American Restoration due to the history they talk about and American companies... I figure I'd do that some day.

So a few weeks ago, I was selling my Ikea dresser and some guy bought it for $25. After he bought it, I noticed that someone had put out an Ikea Billy book case ( smaller than my super tall one) and an old dresser.

I looked at the bill bookcase and realized it was in good condition, something I would use, but I have no space. So I bring it to my parking space and posted it for $25 on CL. A girl bought a couple days later!!!!

I looked at the dresser and I was somewhat impressed by it. It was dirty and handle broke and the closing mechanism was not working properly. But I just left it there.  (check the next post).

So that is how it started. Recently, I have been driving around picking up furniture that looks good and worth fixing, especially:

MADE IN AMERICA and WOOD PRODUCTS!!!!
